The Chartered Association of Business Schools is governed by a Council of business school leaders from within our membership.
Members are elected annually at the Chartered ABS Annual General Meeting, held every November.

Chair - Professor Stewart Robinson
Professor Stewart Robinson, Dean and Professor of Operational Research, Newcastle University Business School.
Stewart Robinson holds an honours degree in Management Science (Operational Research) and a PhD in Management Science, both from Lancaster University. He is a Fellow and former President of the Operational Research Society (2014-15).
Stewart started his career in industry as a business analyst and consultant using computer simulation to improve manufacturing and service operations. He took up his first academic post at Aston Business School in 1992, subsequently working at Warwick Business School (1998-2011), Loughborough University School of Business and Economics (2011-2022) and now at Newcastle University Business School.
During his academic career Stewart has held various leadership roles including: Director of the Executive MBA Programme, Associate Dean for Specialist Masters Programmes, Head of the Operational Research and Management Sciences Group and Associate Dean Research. In 2015 he took up the role of Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University and has been Dean at Newcastle University Business School since July 2022.
Stewart’s research interests are in the practice and use of computer simulation models. He has published six books and over 200 refereed journal and conference articles.

Professor Mohammad M Ali is a dynamic leader with expertise in the higher education sector and in the automotive industry. Mohammad is highly proficient in creating strategies for capability development and for the production of high-quality deliverables. He is also skilled in creating teaching and learning delivery models focused on personalised learning, technology enhanced learning and learning by doing.
