Academic Journal Guide 2024 available now
The Chartered ABS is delighted to publish the 2024 edition of the Academic Journal Guide (AJG 2024) – your guide to the wide range of journals across the academic fields of business and management studies.
Alongside the 2024 journal ratings, this edition includes a number of innovations. In particular the inclusion of new contextual metrics, such as the relationship with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and a new interactive format.
What’s new?
Over 1,800 journals featured: AJG 2024 now comprises 1,822 journals, up from nearly 1,700 journals in AJG 2021.
An intermediate review of journal ratings: AJG 2024 is an intermediate review incorporating new journals as well as journals where there have been significant shifts in metrics, or a significant development or change in the nature of the journal.
New contextual metrics: to enrich the information available to academics deciding where to publish their work, AJG 2024 now provides journal data on:
The prevalence of article content relating to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals
The degree of international co-authorship
The extent of collaboration with stakeholders outside academia
The prevalence of work in the journals being cited in policy
The gender composition of editorial boards
Interactive format: the new format gives users complete control over which of the 47 data columns to display, as well as search and filter functionality.
Use journal ratings responsibly
The AJG is a valuable and effective guide to journals which uses a methodology of peer review informed by metrics. It is not a one-stop-shop to assess research or performance. We encourage the academic community to use the AJG alongside other resources and in line with the principles of best practice in the assessment of scholarly research as outlined by the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and the Leiden Manifesto. Please read the AJG’s methodology which sets out how the journal ratings are based upon peer review and evaluation, informed by citation data.
